Moonglow Body Arts
Henna is a plant, lawsonia inermis, whose leaves are used to make a paste that  stains your skin.  The paste is "painted" onto your skin using a "cone" which is a piece of mylar rolled into a cone-shaped bag just like the bags used to apply decorations with frosting on a cake.  The paste is then allowed to sit on the skin for 8-12 hours.  Some of the paste will flake off on it's own naturally, some will need to be scraped or brushed off.  Once removed, there will be a bright orange stain on the skin that will darken over a 48 hour period and last anywhere from 7 days to 2 weeks, depending on how well it is cared for, the skin's natural exfoliation process & the receipient's personal hygiene routine.
